Productive casting weekend

Well casting day finally arrived and it was a success!

Had a fab weekend as the dog plaque cast came out trouble free. I’ve cast 8 this weekend (including a master cast and test piece) It’s the reason I had my breakfast toast at 4pm today. Just waiting for some wall hangers to arrive then its all systems go.  I also need a new respirator for casting!

Pet Sculpture MouldingĀ

Quick post with a new piece finished last night!.. Then finished prepping for the mould tonight followed by the first few thin coats of silicone…

1st stage of moulding – I don’t think this gives too much away
Building the rubber thickness up over a few days…

New Pet Sculpture! I Love My Dog.

Sculpting… FINALLY!

In fact manically sculpting…can’t stop, won’t stop, the can’t get it out quick enough type of sculpting. Exciting!!!

Sneaky peak…

This should only take a couple of days then hoping to mould mid week and be casting by the weekend. Already have the colours planned, can’t wait to see the result.  Feels like it’s been ages since I sculpted, been painting and prepping prints a lot recently. No wips yet till it’s finished.

Somewhat of a slacker.

…Not really šŸ˜‰ I’ve just not updated my blog in a few weeks.

Currently still trying to fit in a portrait and a sculpture around some other commitments and work, i.e. a few clay models for children to paint in a nursery, some wall displays and some DTP. Not progressed a great deal with them yet but no huge rush at the moment.

Flagging energy levels about to be recharged with a much needed holiday, and then another week off to recuperate from a week with a 4yr old!

Planning on doing a little sketching for fun while away then finishing off the portrait when I get home (if I forget I’m still on hoilday).
